About Me

Singer, Actor, Musician

Hi! I'm Laura!

Currently based in New York City, I am originally from right outside of Raleigh, North Carolina. Growing up, I fell in love with music following my first piano lesson at age 6, and once I started singing in choirs and taking theatre classes I was hooked. Now, I hold a B.M. in Vocal Performance (Music Theatre concentration) with a minor in Educational Theatre from NYU Steinhardt.

Since graduating, some of my recent performance credits include The Sound of Recovery Music (Brigitta/Sister Lee Bond; RR Productions/York Theatre), Tale of the Sackman (Catherine; Main Street Theatre), and Crucible, PA (Waitress/Swing; From Scratch Productions).

During my time at NYU, in addition to honing my performance and musicianship skills, I fell in love with arts education and music directing. This led me to begin working as both a visual arts instructor back home in NC and now a teaching artist with the Brooklyn Acting Lab here in the city, as well as serving as the music director for the Steinhardt Sings web series & live 54 Below concert and the associate music director for West 4th Stage Co.'s productions of Urinetown and Cry Baby.

Besides my passion for theatre and arts education, I am also a huge lover of coffee, southern fast food chains, true crime podcasts (if you have any recommendations please send them my way!), and Disney's Hercules.
